500GB on a blu-ray or HD DVD disc?

I thought this story was worth mentioning: A team in Germany has developed a way to put up to 500GB of data on a blu-ray or HD DVD disc.

bluray Currently the largest capacity on the market is a 50GB blu-ray disc (write-once or rewritable). It looks like they are working on a 1TB capacity disc that should be available by 2010. Check out the full story at vnunet.com.
