Archival Gold CD & DVD Expected Lifetime

How long will your archived photos, music, movies, etc. last on an archival gold CD-R or DVD-R disc? Until recently most manufacturers said about 300 years for the gold CD-R and 100+ years for DVD-R and DVD+R discs. MAM-A recently released new test results that show even longer lifetime stability: 329 years for MAM-A Gold Archive CD-R and 116 years for their Gold Archive DVD-R.

We have had a lot of luck with the MAM-A gold products; to view the recent MAM-A report please click here.

Compatibility can be an issue if your firmware is not up-to-data; MAM-A provides a link on their site with Firmware upgrade information and links.
