Glyph Technologies just launched their IMPROVED mini pro hard drive line: The PortaGig drives have been upgraded to FireWire 800 with USB 2.0. These are available in both 7200 RPM and 5400 RPM with capacities from 120GB to 250GB.

PortaGig 800 drives are available in 7,200 and 5,400 RPM models. The 5,400 RPM drives are available in higher capacities, while the 7,200 RPM drives have slightly higher performance. All models of the PortaGig perform well in an audio environment, however the 7,200 RPM models have slightly higher track count compared to the 5,400 RPM models due to their higher transfer rates.
PortaGig 800 can be run successfully using FireWire and/or USB bus power supplied by many notebook computers, however Glyph can't guarantee compatibility with all notebooks due to differing bus power specs. If you want to guarantee PortaGig 800 will work with your laptop, use the included DC supply.
