Q. What is the warranty on an ECHO certified tape?
A. ECHO warrants that ECHO 100% Certified Media is free of defects in both materials and workmanship and shall remain free of defects under normal use for the life of the product. This lifetime warranty is for the initial end-consumer purchaser of this product. ECHO 100% Certified tapes have been tested using the most exacting quality control standards possible and in the event a product fails, then ECHO will at its option replace the product or refund the full purchase price of any of its products that are found to be defective.
Q. How do I know that the ECHO tape I have is an ECHO 100% Certified tape and not some other company’s certified media?
A. The ECHO tape has an almost invisible mark on the back of the lower right hand corner of every tape that goes into the market. If put under a black light, the mark is very visible. Also, as an added precaution, every ECHO tape is categorized by serial number before it heads to market. We keep a digital record of every tape we certify.
Q. How is ECHO tape packaged?
A. ECHO tape comes in 20 or 30 pack cartons-no different than the boxes from OEMs. Each box identifies the contents of that box. All ECHO media arrives in recycled cardboard boxes, built to ensure the safe transportation of the media.
Q. Can I request a specific brand of media when I order ECHO tape?
A. We want your experience with the ECHO brand of media to exceed your expectations regardless of the original OEM band that lies behind the now certified media. Each track of every piece of media that carries the ECHO name has been thoroughly tested to ensure that we accomplish this goal. However, when requested, we will do everything in our control to meet your brand specific needs. It should be noted that we do not blend OEM brands into any ECHO box. When you order a box of ECHO media, every tape within the box will have come from the same original OEM. We clearly mark, on the outside of the ECHO box, the original OEM brand so there is clarity.
Q. Can I label and or label and initialize an ECHO brand tape?
A. Yes. The experience you have labeling or labeling and initializing your ECHO tape will be exactly the same as the experience you have with any original OEM tape.
Q. What sort of failure rates should I expect with ECHO tape?
A. Our goal at ECHO is to ensure that no ECHO 100% Certified tape is ever returned to us due to “tape failure”. We use stringent degaussing, eradication, thorough testing and certification methods when creating an ECHO tape. We do not batch test – we test every track of every tape in its entirety, in order to guarantee every piece of media that carries the ECHO name. For an ECHO tape to leave our facility with the ECHO branding, it must pass our tests with 100% success. Should you experience any problems with any tape, we will not only correct the problem, we will also provide you with the results of the returns analysis to ensure that your expectations are met regarding the status of that tape.
Q. Is ECHO tape readily available?
A. Yes. ECHO tape is available today in most product SKUs. Inventory is driven by supply, so certain, newer platforms may be more difficult to obtain. Older formats of media are available for purchase today.
