The MAM Difference

MAM-A has developed a reputation for quality that is un-equaled in the CD industry. Because of our patented Phthalocyanine (thalo-sy-a-neen) dye and our attention to detail in the manufacturing process, we offer recordable media that is more reliable and longer lived than any other recording media available today. If you store it on MAM CD-R, you can be sure that you can reliably retrieve it for a long time to come. In fact, we conservatively estimate that our silver CD-R will last 100 years when stored at room temperature and our MAM Gold will last in excess of 300 years. No other recording media that we know of can offer that kind of reliability. (Tapes don't come close and even "stamped" CDs will last 5-25 years at best).

	The MAM Advantage

Because MAM makes all of its own discs, and makes most of the component materials which go into its discs, MAM CD-R media benefits from a consistency and process control which no other manufacturer can equal. Since we don't rely on third-parties to provide our technology, production facilities, or raw materials, MAM CD-R customers know that each component and each step in the manufacturing process has been subjected to the most rigorous quality controls in the industry. Every MAM CD-R is warranted for life. No other CD-R media manufacturer offers a warranty of this strength.

Every MAM CD-R is certified for use with all high speed recorders up to 52X. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, MAM's molding process results in discs that are flatter than the competition. While all discs are slightly warped, if they are warped beyond a certain tolerance they cannot be used for high speed recording. Second, the unique characteristics of the Phthalocyanine dye simply works better in high speed writers than other dyes. Some of the key parameters to judge CD quality actually improve at higher speeds with MAM CD-R.

	High Speed Compatibility

"Phthalocyanine" dye is more sensitive to powered laser light and more conducive to high speed recording than other dyes. It is altered more quickly and sharply by the laser. Therefore it guarantees very precise recording at speeds 2X-52X with any type of recorder, and errorless read back by any type of player. Since we have not changed our dye formulation in over 5 years, drive manufacturers are able to easily configure their units for our dye. That's why MAM CD-R is compatible with every writer & reader on the market--a CD-R that we manufactured 5 years ago will perform the same as the ones made today. Most of our competitors need to re-formulate for different speeds, requiring drive manufacturers to accommodate multiple variations.

The SDX is a full featured family of portable external hard drives that offer superior performance and reliability at extremely competitive pricing. The SDX feature set is unmatched in its price range.

Power Means Performance

The SDX power adapter supplies a healthy 3 amps of power for both 5 and 12 VDC to the internal drive mechanism. Many power supplies offer less current than needed by the hard drive, which can reduce performance. Performance can also be lost over the long run of thin wires between the drive and the adapter. The SDX AC adapter uses extra heavy gauge wire as well as a 4 pin connector with oversized pins for 5VDC, 12VDC plus 2 ground pins to insure maximum connectivity and performance.

SATA Means Speed

Power users working with digital video, audio, or graphics production need all the speed they can get. The SDX 1000 meets the challenge, with transfer rates up to five times faster than FireWire and USB 2.0. eSATA technology offers 3Gb/s performance in a single drive configuration for data intensive applications including real time video editing, digital photography and high-speed data back up.

Oxford Chip Technology Means Compatibility

There is only one choice for the bridge chipset, which converts the hard disk drive SATA data to FireWire data - the Oxford Semiconductor chipset.  Only the Oxford chipset assures unprecedented performance and compatibility across the wide variety of computer platforms and FireWire devices. MAM-A makes a quality product and their discs can be found across the globe in government archival projects, pro photography studios and more.
