Glyph's GT 062 is a two-drive tabletop designed for professional audio and video applications, and can be configured in four drive modes. RAID 1 offers data redundancy and real-time backup by writing the same data to the two hard drives at the same time. Should a drive failure happen, data is still available on the remaining drive. RAID 0 (striping) increases the performance of the drive system by spreading the data across two drives. RAID 0 is a proven technology for editing video, working with huge graphics files, sound libraries, and streaming instruments that play hundreds of samples simultaneously. JBOD mode (individual volumes) is very well suited for audio production, while Spanning mode simply shows the two internal drives as one large volume.

Glyph Manager software

GT 062 ships with the Glyph Manager software, a utility for Mac OS X and Windows that configures the GT 062 in one of the four drive modes, and displays health status of the GT 062 drives. When configured in RAID 1 mode, Glyph Manager constantly monitors the health of the drives. When a problem is detected, Glyph Manager alerts the user by animating in the Mac OS X dock or displaying an error balloon from the Windows System Tray. Data can then be backed up before any is lost due to drive failure. The GT 062 combination of RAID 1 real-time backup and drive health monitoring provides the highest level of data security of any product in its class.

RAID modes for Audio Production

Our in-house testing has shown that, in an audio environment, the highest track count can be achieved in JBOD mode, which is the GT 062 default shipping mode. In JBOD mode, using our 48 KHz/24-bit test sessions, the GT 062 supported 80 tracks at edit level 1. In RAID 0 mode, the same test supported 78 tracks. At 96 KHz/24-bit, the GT 062 JBOD supported 62 tracks, while RAID 0 supported 50 tracks. Check out our Track Count Test Results page for the complete test results.

PLEASE READ THE MANUAL FIRST! Changing the drive mode reconfigures the internal drives, which will require you to re-format the GT 062. Doing so will erase all of the current data on the drive. Make sure you backup all data before changing the drive mode and reformatting the GT 062!

Can I play my PowerPoint presentation?
Yes! Here's how...
To run PowerPoint presentations on the XMS you must export your slides to JPEG files. Use the “Save As” command in PowerPoint and pick JPG as the output format. VH1 and MTV.  I actually used to watch these stations when a. I had time and b. when they showed music videos.  All the reality stuff is not my thing except for a couple of shows.  Behind the Music was interesting at times; I guess there in enough interest to bring it back.

I used to love watching Bands Reunited.  Probably because I remember the bands the first time around...  I'm hoping someone will bring that one back too; there were tons of bands over the past 20 years who could get back together today and sell some music.  Maybe the clothing is a little bit bigger but the 80's and 90's had some great songwriters.  

How about a Reunited Bands Reunited?  Get Dramarama on the road again!   Don't get me wrong; there are some great bands now whose members were not even born in 1985.  I get bombarded with the Jonas Brothers at my house and they can write some great pop tunes.  Since I lived in L.A. during the hair band metal years of the late 80' and early 90's I know from working with a lot of the sunset strip bands there is definitely a comedy show waiting to happen around that scene.  I was not a metal musician but did make many cassette demo tapes for artists.  Forget the CD-R demos...they were $25 each when first introduced!  How about a Shout! bands reunited; Loren Robinson is one of the nicest guys I ever met.  He sold me a bunch of Nakamichi MR2B cassette decks to get the first business off the ground.  Lions & Ghosts, Naked Soul, Wednesday Week,...the list could go on for awhile.

I saw part of an article online saying some of the most expensive words to use in online advertising are insurance quotes, dui attorney, home mortage rates and tax help.  First off I was a little alarmed to see dui attorney on the list...pretty scary that many people are searching along those lines.  I don't know how accurate the list was but someone is paying some serious bucks on expensive click ads.  Our company does a little online advertising (not with the selections above) and we find it is a science and/or art to get it working well.  Keeping an eye on the budget is very important; I can't imagine the annual budget for large companies like Dell or Target.

Economic stimulus:  Those two words bring out varied responses from everyone asked to voice an opinion.  One thing I believe almost everyone agrees on is that education is a excellent area for some of the funds.  We work with schools all over the country, from preschools through college, and often see teachers using their own funds to help their students get the products required.  I have purchased multiple items for my kids classrooms at the beginning of each school year that were always provided for free when I was in school.  Times have changed but the need for a quality education has not. 

The government is allocating resources to every state for education related purchases.  Title 1, ARRA, IDEA, EETT...these are some of the names out there right now.  Wading through all the regulations, etc. is a daunting task but at least some funding is coming.  Here at Encore Data Products we are excited to be a part of the process to equip our schools with the equipment they need.  As a small business we are able to act fast and respond quickly to customer requests and inquiries; our goal is to keep the red tape out of the buying process.

The LTO tape format is a big seller, from single tapes for office backups to multi tape purchases for data centers. LTO 3 and LTO 4 are our top categories these days since the cost of media has dropped and the capacities are much greater than the earlier formats.
