“The landmark Armory Show of 1913 was the first large exhibition of modern art in the US and introduced European modernism to an American audience. The show was initially titled the International Exhibition of Modern Art and was the first project of the ‘American Association of Painters and Sculptors’, a group that aimed to “lead the public taste in art, rather than follow it.”

After building a small team of passionate experts, Meural was incubated in 2014 out of an artist collective in the Lower East Side of New York City sourcing feedback straight from artists. The first year was spent on R&D: developing the right display, building the ambient light sensor, creating gesture control, and designing the frames.
As the company founders have stated:
Our goal is to democratize art
“We believe art is for everyone, and we’re dedicated to bringing it into homes of all shapes and sizes. To do so, we combine the best of art, technology, and design to create products that make us feel something. We make sure artists are properly compensated, and we support them at every step in their career.”
