The Encore Data Products blog was designed to offer some extra news and information to current and future customers. Since we sell a wide selection of products and to a diverse clientele my blog entries are not exactly focused on one thing. I have noticed the little google ads on the right side of this screen change some as the entry content does. Traffic spikes sometimes when I write about a specific product ( see our ITTUSB turntable). What happens when the blog mentions people or products that most of the world seems to be interested in? I don't know....we'll see based on the above title. At least Britney Spears has used some of the products we sell since she does record music on occasion.

I was trying to figure out a way to relate this entry to Encore Data Products but that would be a stretch. As a 19X7 graduate of Clemson University I found this article pretty funny. Most of the planet does not know or does not care about the Clemson / Univ. of South Carolina rivalry but it is a good one. It seems South Carolina has a new license plate coming out that some folks think favors Clemson colors.

I think it looks great!  Now if it can somehow help Clemson football win another national championship...

Since we sell a lot of archival grade CD-R, DVD-R and DVD+R media we can tell there are many people out there making digital copies of their older media. Family movies, pictures, recordings etc.; it is always good to have additional copies on decent grade discs.  We get a few calls a week from customers looking for someone to transfer and edit their family recordings.  There is a local company not too far from Encore Data Products that specializes in converting your older formats to digital: Memories to Digital.  I read an article about them in a local paper a week or so ago that provided some great info about the company.  I called and spoke to a very helpful person last week; I wanted to confirm they work with clients from around the U.S. and not just in our area.  They do.  MTDigital has a great business going with two locations right now in our area.  If you are looking for someone to professionally transfer your old media to digital formats I suggest contacting them.

Here it is the last day of 2007; overall I would say it was a great year!  2008 looks to be bigger and better on many fronts.  We have some upcoming brands to launch in January along with some changes with some current product lines.

On the pro audio front we will see some new products from our pro AV hard drive manufacturers; there is also a price increase on RMG analog recording tape.  The analog market continues to come back but the costs involved in manufacturing and shipping these products have really jumped.  RMG is still the most cost-effective brand on the market for analog recording sessions.

We should also see some new products for the education market in January; if has been a pleasure working with schools around the U.S. for their AV needs.   Thanks for using Encore Data Products; we really do appreciate the business!

I saw part of an article online saying some of the most expensive words to use in online advertising are insurance quotes, dui attorney, home mortage rates and tax help.  First off I was a little alarmed to see dui attorney on the list...pretty scary that many people are searching along those lines.  I don't know how accurate the list was but someone is paying some serious bucks on expensive click ads.  Our company does a little online advertising (not with the selections above) and we find it is a science and/or art to get it working well.  Keeping an eye on the budget is very important; I can't imagine the annual budget for large companies like Dell or Target.

SEM click ads are a huge business; I read Geico.com has a daily budget of almost $250,000!  I don't know exactly what the spend but their reps must be selling a boatload of auto insurance every day.  Being a bit smaller than Geico or Travelocity we have to keep a close eye on advertising; 250K in a day might cause some calls from our stockholders (if we had any).
